The Winds of Time

By

Karen B

The winds of time sweep across his face. His violet eyes won't give up the chase. The pain it ebbs around every bend. God, your angels please now send.

The human race with numbers tolled. Many of those whose souls are sold. A higher essence I know there must be. A being, whose heart will always see.

His temple poisoned by another's hand. The winds of time sifting through the sand. The hour glass not half full. The hourglass empty in darkened pools.

There's not much time, the wind has said. Soon my best friend will be dead. Tremendous pain racks his mortal soul. The winds of time take their toll.

He falls again, twisting to the ground. His shrieking pain, the only sound. I hold him off of earthly ground. His body's limp and heaven bound.

The winds of time have called his name. There's no one else, left to blame. Atop this roof, I hold my partner's listless head. The hand that harmed him, lays now dead.

He lets his cloudy eyes search my face. Anchoring him to this roof, to this place. Breathing in the winds of time. Breathing out, the trembling hand is mine.

Why would I live upon this sphere? Without the partner I love so dear. My heart beats in him and his in mine. The core of our spirits melt and bind.

The winds of time try to pull him away. I hold on tight and force him to stay. I will not let the breezes take him away. I keep the majestic hand of heaven at bay.

The hand of god gently caresses my face. I plea to him my reverent case. Opening hearts bring magical powers near. The key to his life, now has appeared.

Faster than the wind, my knowledge sown. Breaking down barricades of the unknown. The cure I so fought to obtain. Now placed in my palm, the winds of time sustained.
