Angel In Disguise
(A Body Worth Guarding - Hutch's POV)

By

November 2001

My heart skipped a beat when I saw Anna walking towards me. Her hips moving in a sensual way. Each step she took was so graceful, that my heartbeat increased as she came closer. In her white dress, fair skin, and dark eyes surrounded by shining blonde hair she was more than a woman to me. She looked like an angel. I reached out my hands and pulled her into my arms. I couldn't believe I was holding her again.

She gently wiped away a single teardrop rolling down my cheek and whispered my name. "Hootch?"

When I looked into her eyes I was lost. Past and present mingled together. Time stood still. She softly touched my lips with her fingers. I pressed a kiss on her fingertips. One by one.

My gaze never left her face and my voice sounded hoarse: "Tadzjic, I lost you once, I'm not going to lose you again."

She never looked away, but her eyes were sparkling as she took my hand and guided me to the bedroom, where she slowly undressed herself. She was a vision, so beautiful, that I could hardly breathe. My Russian angel in disguise had come home to me.

But when I woke up the next morning I was alone again.

   I wish it wasn't just a dream
   because when I wake up
   I'll be alone again

   I wish it wasn't just a dream
   when you came to me
in the middle of the night
   Looking like an beautiful angel
   with long blonde hair
   and dressed in white

   I wish it wasn't just a dream
   when you came to me
in the middle of the night
   and I could hold you
   in my arms again

   I wish it wasn't just a dream
when you wiped a teardrop from my eye
   and pressed your lips
on the skin of my forehead
   softly whispering my name

   I wish it wasn't just a dream
   when you teased me endlessly
   and I couldn't stop laughing
   until you kissed me
   and the world stopped spinning

   I wish it wasn't just a dream.
