"From Starsky to Hutch"    

   Hey, buddy, how ya doin'? Not so good, huh? I can hear how tired you are, and how much you're hurtin' right now. I can hear it in your voice, like I'm the one that's talking. Every time you take a breath,  I can hear the tears you're trying to hide. Tears for all the years we've been partners, and best friends. Tears for what could have been. If I could only reach out and touch you, but this time my body is lettin' me down. I can't move, Hutch. I can't speak. I can't even open my eyes to let you know that I heard every word you said. I can only lie here and wait for whatever's comin'. I know what you're going through, buddy, I really do. I don't wanna die, but if it's my time to go, there ain't much I can do about it. Some things are meant to be, Hutch.    

   I can only hope that I get the chance to open my eyes one more time. I want to give you back the part of your soul that you gave to me. You'll need that part to go on living, when that old Grim Reaper shows up for the last time. You're the best thing that ever happened to me. I mean that, Blintz. I was the lucky one to have you for a partner and a best friend. You are the only man in my life I ever felt comfortable enough to hold or to touch. I didn't have to think about it. It just happened, ya know? Yeah, I guess you do.    

   Oh, wipe that silly smirk off your face, Blondie. Ya never expected me to admit it like this, did you? Don't forget that you started this soapy scene. You know how much I hate those. I think what you and I share is what friendship is all about. We had lots of good times. We had our share of bad times too, but I'd like to think that it made our friendship stronger.    

   I know you can hear what I'm sayin', Hutch. Just listen with your heart.

   I love you, Blintz. I always have and I always will. Whatever is lying ahead of us, we'll handle it together.    

   Promise to always follow your heart, because that's where you can hear me talkin' to you, when my eyes are closed for good.
